Lazio target Genk defender Mujaid Sadick as Serie A interest grows
Spanish-Nigerian defender Mujaid Sadick is at the centre of a reported transfer link between Genk and Lazio, with the Serie A club considering a move for the 26-year-old centre-back.
Sadick remains under contract with Genk until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would require Lazio to negotiate a fee with the Belgian club. His current market value is listed at €5m.
The defender has not appeared in either of Genk’s two possible Jupiler Pro League matches at the start of the 2026-27 season, and he has yet to register a goal or assist in the campaign.
Sadick joined Genk from Deportivo La Coruna in July 2021 in a transfer valued at €1.7m. He developed through Deportivo’s youth system and reserve side before making the move to Belgium.
Born in Logrono, Spain, Sadick holds Spanish and Nigerian nationality. He has spent the past five years with Genk, where his current contract places the club in a strong position should Lazio make a formal approach.
The reported interest comes as Lazio assess defensive options ahead of the new Serie A season. No agreement has been confirmed, and Sadick remains a Genk player with two years left on his contract.
