Antoine Semenyo’s standout performance for Bournemouth ultimately ended in a 2-2 draw against Newcastle on the 25th day of the league. Despite Semenyo’s contribution, Bournemouth faced the disappointment of conceding an equalizer in added time.

The decisive Saturday encounter showcased the talents of Semenyo, who recently experienced an early exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Ghana.

His resilience and goal-scoring prowess were on full display as Bournemouth aimed to secure victory against Newcastle.

The second half proved to be the focal point of the match’s intensity. Dominic Solanke initiated the scoring for Bournemouth in the 51st minute, providing a glimmer of hope for the away team.

However, Newcastle swiftly responded, with Gordon finding the net in the 58th minute, leveling the score.

In a pivotal moment, around ten minutes later, Antoine Semenyo displayed his goal-scoring prowess, propelling Bournemouth back into the lead in the 69th minute.

As the clock ticked down, the Ghanaian and his teammates believed victory was within their grasp.

However, football’s unpredictable nature unfolded in the dying moments of the game. Matt Ritchie of Newcastle secured a late equalizer in added time, with the score leveling at 2-2 (90+2).

The turn of events left Bournemouth with a bitter taste of what could have been, as Newcastle salvaged a point in dramatic fashion.

Currently positioned 13th in the Premier League with 28 points, Bournemouth and Semenyo have demonstrated resilience throughout the season.

Semenyo’s goal marked his fourth in the league this season, underscoring his significance as a key contributor to Bournemouth’s campaign.

The draw at St James’ Park adds an element of unpredictability to the Premier League standings, further intensifying the competition as the season progresses.
