Lassine Sinayoko makes flying start at Paris FC after €8m move

Lassine Sinayoko has made an immediate impact at Paris FC after joining from AJ Auxerre in the summer for about 8 million euros, scoring four goals and providing one assist in his first five appearances.

The Mali international has also been nominated for the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for September. He is competing for the prize with Spain forward Ferran Torres of Paris SG and Germany striker Paris Brunner of AS Monaco, who have also scored four goals in five matches.

Tenema N’Diaye “Takisse” a former Mali international and FC Nantes centre-forward praised Sinayoko’s impressive beginning in an exclusive interview with Africafoot. N’Diaye said he hoped his young compatriot would continue to score regularly for Paris FC throughout the season.

Rapid rise in Ligue 1

Sinayoko completed his move from AJ Auxerre during the final days of the summer transfer window and quickly established himself as one of Paris FC’s main attacking threats.

After the opening five rounds of Ligue 1, he is among the division’s leading scorers. His performances have continued the progress he has made in recent seasons and placed him among the championship’s notable forwards.

The 26-year-old was developed by AJ Auxerre and has now played 104 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 22 goals and registering 17 assists. His output has increased significantly in recent years.

Sinayoko finished as AJ Auxerre’s leading scorer in 2025/26, scoring 12 goals and supplying four assists in 32 matches. His move to Paris FC has so far brought an even more productive start, with four goals in only five games.

Mali’s attacking reference point

Sinayoko has also retained an important role with the Mali national team. He was the country’s only goalscorer at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, finding the net three times in five matches.

He contributed an assist during Mali’s 3-1 victory over Cape Verde in the final round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. Although he did not score in that match, his contribution helped the Eagles secure the win.

N’Diaye believes Sinayoko’s current form reflects his growing importance for both club and country, while also expressing hope that the striker can add further goals during the remainder of the campaign.

Paris FC’s next Ligue 1 fixture is against FC Lorient in the sixth round of the season.
