LASK add Libyan-German centre-back Daniel Elfadli on season-long loan

LASK have signed Libyan-German centre-back Daniel Elfadli from Hamburg on a season-long loan, bringing the 29-year-old defender to Austria until 30 June 2027.

Elfadli joins after two years with Hamburg, who signed him from 1. FC Magdeburg for €800,000 in July 2024. He made the move to Magdeburg in 2022 from VfR Aalen on a free transfer.

The 1.88m right-footed defender has played primarily as a centre-back throughout his senior career. His move to LASK was completed on 2 September 2026, with the Austrian club taking him for the 2026-27 campaign.

Elfadli began his senior career with SSV Reutlingen before spells at FC Nottingen and VfR Aalen. He joined VfR Aalen from FC Nottingen in 2021, also on a free transfer, and moved to Magdeburg the following season.

He had not made a senior appearance for Hamburg in the 2026-27 Bundesliga or DFB-Pokal before completing the switch. His arrival gives LASK a defender with experience of German football across the professional game.

The defender was born in Leonberg, Germany, on 6 April 1997 and holds Libyan and German nationality. He developed in the German youth system before progressing into senior football with clubs in the country.

Elfadli’s Hamburg contract is due to run until 30 June 2027, matching the scheduled end of his loan spell with LASK. The transfer therefore represents a temporary move, with the defender remaining tied to the German club beyond his season in Austria.

The move adds another chapter to Elfadli’s career after his rise from regional German football to the professional game. Following his early development at SKV Rutesheim and SSV Reutlingen, he established himself at VfR Aalen before earning a move to Magdeburg.

He completed his switch from Hamburg to LASK on loan on 2 September 2026.
