Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal could be in line for a rest as the team gears up to face Girona, with manager Hansi Flick revealing a promising update.
Speaking to the press ahead of the match, Flick tackled questions about managing the squad’s energy after a tight turnaround between games. The focus quickly shifted to Yamal, the teenage sensation who’s been turning heads all season.
“I think Lamine is very intelligent and knows very well how to dosing during the games,” Flick said.
“I talked to him this morning, I asked him how he felt, and he’s very positive.” The manager’s trust in Yamal’s self-awareness stood out, hinting at a possible rest for the youngster to keep him fresh.
Flick didn’t stop there, emphasizing how vital it is for players to tune into their own bodies. “I always tell the players that, if they feel something, they can talk to me, we will talk, and that’s it. They all understand the responsibility they have with their own body.”
Drawing from his playing days, he added, “For my own experience as a player, if you feel something and do not take care of yourself, anything can happen. That is what I tell you. You have to assume that responsibility.”
Lamine Yamal has played 25 games, scored six goals and assisted eleven in La Liga this season.
