Thierry Henry has urged caution over the growing expectations placed on Lamine Yamal, drawing parallels to Bojan Krkic’s early career.
The former Arsenal star, who played alongside Bojan at Barcelona, emphasized the importance of patience in a young player’s development.
“I’ve seen this before,” Henry noted. “Not me, but someone who came to the scene like this: Bojan Krkic. I invite you to see his documentary to understand what can happen when everything happens too fast.”
Henry highlighted the struggles Bojan faced as a teenager dealing with immense pressure. “Bojan struggled against anxiety and didn’t want them to see him too much. People forget that he was just a child who went from being an unknown to everyone expected to be great.”
He also praised Bojan for his honesty in addressing the challenges he faced. “He rejected the opportunity to go to Eurocup when Spain won for the first time. His documentary is a good way to understand what it means to be too soon.”
Yamal has played 23 games, scored six goals and assisted eleven in La Liga this season.
