Spanish international Lamine Yamal, who is of Moroccan descent, is set to commit his future to FC Barcelona by signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The agreement, already reached with the club, marks a significant milestone for both the player and the team.
At just 17 years old, Yamal has emerged as one of Barcelona’s brightest talents this season. He played a pivotal role in their La Liga title triumph and helped guide the team to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.
Rather than focusing on marquee signings in the upcoming summer transfer window, Barcelona’s priority has been to secure the long-term commitment of their prized academy product.
Sporting director Deco underscored this sentiment, stating that renewing Yamal’s contract would be the club’s greatest success in the window.
The new deal will significantly boost Yamal’s earnings. His salary will start at €9 million annually and gradually increase to €18 million per season, positioning him among the highest earners in the squad.
Yamal made his senior debut for Barcelona on April 29, 2023, coming on as a substitute for Gavi in a 4–0 win over Real Betis.
Since then, he has racked up an impressive 105 official appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 28 assists—all before turning 18.
