Barcelona fans wasted no time showing love to their new number 10, Lamine Yamal.
Just hours after the club officially announced his contract renewal and handed him the iconic shirt, supporters flooded club stores to grab a piece of history.
According to Culemania via Diario Sport, Barcelona sold around 70,000 Lamine Yamal shirts in a single day, an astonishing figure that reflects the teenager’s growing influence both on and off the pitch.
Many fans hoped for a glimpse of Yamal himself, who was present for part of the jersey printing process. Shirts bearing his name flew off the shelves, with prices ranging from €120 to €150 depending on the store.
Based on those prices, Barcelona could have made between €9 million and €10.5 million in revenue in just 24 hours.
Last season, the club earned around €150 million in total shirt sales. But with Lamine now wearing the number once worn by Messi, Barcelona insiders believe this season could break every sales record.
The 18-year-old has become more than just a rising star, he’s a brand of his own.
