Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal has described his exciting career as something straight out of a football video game, capturing the imagination of fans worldwide.
The young winger, who’s taken the pitch by storm, shared his surreal journey with a smile.
“It’s like a dream. And I still feel that way. If we reach the Champions League final, the Copa del Rey final, the World Cup final next year… it’s all like a dream. “It’s like I’m playing Pro Evolution Soccer. It’s amazing. When you come home and say: ‘Pff, I played in the Euro final…’ it’s incredible. “I don’t feel the pressure. I just try to enjoy myself. I don’t think too much about other things. Of course, I understand that I’m playing for Barcelona. I realize the importance of this, but I don’t think about the pressure. I just play,” said the Barcelona winger.
Yamal’s breakout season was highly electric. He earned his first start for Barcelona on August 20, 2023, dazzling in a 2–0 win over Cádiz, exiting to a roaring ovation. A week later, he shone again, earning man of the match honors in a thrilling 4–3 triumph over Villarreal, setting up goals for Gavi and Lewandowski.
