Barcelona’s young star, Lamine Yamal, is proving why he is considered one of football’s brightest talents.
The 18-year-old midfielder has already shown he can decide games on his own, impressing fans and teammates alike. His intelligent play and confidence on the ball have caught the eye of many, including Barcelona coach Hansi Flick.
Flick, recently named Coach of the Year at the Sport Bild Gala in Hamburg, spoke warmly about Yamal during a video appearance.
“I don’t think there are any comparable players. Lamine is a true genius. Especially at 18 years old, he decides games by himself. He’s on the right track. He’s also very intelligent,” Flick said. He added that while Yamal is young, learning from experienced teammates will help him reach his full potential.
The coach also reflected on Barcelona’s season, praising the team’s resilience.
“The season is going well in terms of points, but I’m not entirely satisfied. However, in the last game, after trailing 2-0, we scored three goals and took all three points. That was definitely positive and gives us confidence for the upcoming matches.”
