Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has stirred speculation over a possible club link-up with Spain teammate Nico Williams after posting a photo of the pair together during international duty.
Williams, who is of Ghanaian descent, has long been a target for the Catalan giants.
The 22-year-old winger was close to joining Barcelona last summer but opted to remain with boyhood club Athletic Club.
However, renewed interest from Barça has emerged ahead of the new season.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona sporting director Deco recently met with Williams’ agent, Felix Tainta, to explore the feasibility of a deal.
While no agreement has been reached, the meeting signals the club’s revived intent to bring the highly rated winger to Camp Nou.
Amid the ongoing talks, Yamal took to Instagram to share a photo alongside Williams, sparking renewed speculation among fans and Spanish media.
The pair have formed a strong bond while playing together for Spain at the European Championship.
Barcelona are not the only club monitoring Williams, whose release clause reportedly stands at €58 million.
Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Arsenal have all expressed interest in the winger, but multiple sources suggest he prefers to remain in La Liga, making Barcelona his likely destination if he leaves Bilbao.
Yamal’s post adds momentum to a potential summer move that would see two of Spain’s brightest young attackers link up at club level.
