Barcelona travel to Atletico Madrid on Sunday for a decisive La Liga meeting at the Metropolitano, with Lamine Yamal holding an impressive record at the Madrid club’s home ground.
The Barcelona winger has played six matches at the stadium, winning five and losing one. He has scored twice and provided one assist during those appearances, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Yamal first featured at the Metropolitano in La Liga during the 29th round of the 2023-24 season. He came on in the 61st minute for Raphinha, as Barcelona secured a convincing 3-0 victory.
His next appearance at the ground came in the 28th round of La Liga in the 2024-25 campaign. Yamal was one of the key figures in Barcelona’s comeback, as they overturned a deficit to beat Atletico Madrid 4-2.
The forward scored Barcelona’s third goal in the third minute of added time, putting Hansi Flick’s side 3-2 ahead. He was also named player of the match.
Yamal’s third match at the Metropolitano was the second leg of the 2024-25 Copa del Rey semi-final. The first leg at Spotify Camp Nou had ended in a 4-4 draw.
He played 87 minutes in Madrid and set up Ferran Torres for the opening goal in the 26th minute. Barcelona went on to secure their place in the final.
The only defeat Yamal has suffered at the stadium came in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final during the previous season, when Atletico Madrid won 4-0.
Barcelona returned to winning ways in Yamal’s penultimate match at the Metropolitano. During the 30th round of last season’s La Liga campaign, they edged Atletico Madrid 2-1.
His most recent visit came in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final in the 2025-26 season. Yamal scored an early goal to raise hopes of a Barcelona comeback, but Atletico Madrid won the match 2-1.
That result was not enough for Atletico Madrid to overturn their 2-0 defeat in the first leg in Barcelona, and the Spanish side were eliminated from the competition.
Despite the loss, Yamal’s overall record at the Metropolitano stands at five victories from six matches, giving him a win rate of 83.33%.
Barcelona’s latest meeting with Atletico Madrid takes place in the 12th round of La Liga on 08 November 2026.
