AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara may have to wait to make his Champions League debut after suffering an injury during his team’s 3-0 victory over AJ Auxerre in Ligue 1. The Senegalese international was instrumental in the win, providing a key assist before being forced off the pitch on a stretcher following a neck injury late in the game.

Camara, who had just returned to the starting lineup after a suspension, displayed his value in manager Adi Hütter’s system with his performance.

He played a crucial role in Monaco’s dominant display, creating opportunities and contributing to the team’s third consecutive league win.

However, his evening was marred by a collision with Auxerre’s Aristide Zossou, which left him in visible pain and unable to continue.

The injury occurred in the closing minutes of the match, with Camara going down after a muscular contact with Zossou. Medical staff responded quickly, and the 21-year-old was stretchered off as a precaution.

While the full extent of his injury is yet to be confirmed, there are concerns that it could jeopardize his participation in Monaco’s upcoming Champions League fixture against FC Barcelona, scheduled for Thursday, September 19.

According to French outlet *L’Équipe*, Camara will undergo further medical evaluations on Monday, adhering to the concussion protocol set by the Professional Football League (LFP).

The protocol mandates a complete neurological assessment within 72 hours of the incident to determine whether the player can safely return to action.

Until these tests are completed, his availability for the Champions League clash remains uncertain.

The injury also puts his participation in Monaco’s Ligue 1 match against Le Havre on Sunday, September 22, in doubt.

Camara, a product of the prestigious Génération Foot academy in Senegal, has been one of the standout performers for Monaco this season, and his absence would be a significant blow to the team.

Fans and teammates alike will be hoping for positive news from the medical tests, as Camara’s presence could be pivotal in the showdown against Barcelona.

For now, Monaco must wait to see if their talented young midfielder will recover in time for the crucial fixtures ahead.
