Lamine Camara and Krépin Diatta included in Monaco squad for pre-season training in England

Lamine Camara and Krépin Diatta have been named in AS Monaco’s squad for a week-long training camp at St George’s Park, the English FA’s national football centre in Birmingham.

The Ligue 1 side departed for England on Sunday following a confident pre-season win over Belgian outfit Cercle Bruges.

The training camp marks a key phase in Monaco’s summer preparations ahead of the new season under head coach Adi Hütter.

In an official statement released on Sunday, the club confirmed the group of players selected for the trip.

Among them are Senegalese internationals Camara and Diatta, both of whom are expected to play a significant role in the upcoming season.

The inclusion of the pair underlines their growing importance within Hütter’s tactical setup.

Also featuring in the squad are Monaco’s two high-profile summer signings — former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, returning to action following injury, and English defender Eric Dier, who recently joined from Tottenham Hotspur.

Their presence adds both experience and versatility to Monaco’s ranks ahead of their domestic and European campaigns.

The training camp will include two friendly fixtures against English clubs as Monaco continues its pre-season schedule. First, they will face Coventry City on Wednesday, 16 July at 18:00 BST.

The Championship side will provide a useful test of Monaco’s sharpness and cohesion following their early preparations.

Later in the week, on Saturday 19 July at 16:00 BST, the Monegasques will wrap up their stay in England with a match against Premier League team Nottingham Forest.

The fixture promises to be a more demanding encounter as Monaco assesses its readiness against top-flight opposition.

The trip to St George’s Park serves as a key opportunity for the squad to build rhythm and understanding ahead of a crucial season.

With new signings bedding in, returning players regaining fitness, and young talents like Camara aiming to make their mark, the camp is expected to provide valuable insight into Hütter’s tactical plans.

Monaco’s choice of St George’s Park — a facility renowned for its world-class amenities and professional environment — reflects the seriousness of the club’s pre-season ambitions.

Hütter and his staff will use the week to fine-tune systems, evaluate individual performances, and shape the squad’s mentality ahead of the competitive restart.

For Camara and Diatta, both experienced on the international stage with Senegal, the camp also presents a chance to solidify their places in the starting lineup.

Their performances in England may well determine how central they will be to Monaco’s plans in the coming months.

AS Monaco will return to France following the Nottingham Forest fixture, with preparations then shifting toward their opening fixtures of the Ligue 1 campaign.
