After successfully passing the medical examination, Lalawélé Atakora has signed a new contract. The Togolese midfielder completed a one-year loan move to Balikesirspor, a Turkish second division club. Atakora, previously under contract with AIK Stockholm in Sweden, is seeking a fresh challenge to revive his career. Unfortunately, he will miss the opportunity to face Manchester United in a friendly on August 6. After discovering European football with AIK last season, the 21-year-old lost his starting place early in the season, prompting him to seek a new opportunity. Despite the setback, Atakora has made a mark with the Togolese national team, scoring a remarkable goal against Cameroon in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers last June.
