Kylian Mbappé cleared of Swedish allegations as accuser speaks out

Kylian Mbappé has been cleared of allegations of rape and sexual harassment following an incident in Sweden during the October international break.

Swedish authorities dropped the case due to insufficient evidence, but the complainant recently decided to share her account publicly, reigniting attention on the matter.

The controversy began on October 9 in Stockholm, where Mbappé, recovering from injury and left out of the French national team by Didier Deschamps, was spending time preparing for his return to Real Madrid.

According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, the French striker and his teammate Nordi Mukiele visited a nightclub called “V,” where they mingled with a group of women, including the accuser.

Allegations stem from private gathering

Following a festive evening at the nightclub, six women, including the complainant, were reportedly invited to Mbappé’s suite at the Bank Hotel.

According to the woman, who is in her twenties, she danced with the football star and shared a kiss.

He was charming and respectful at first,” she recounted. However, she alleged that the mood changed when the two were alone in a bathroom, where she claimed Mbappé acted against her wishes.

I told him no several times, but he seemed to insist before finally leaving,” the woman told investigators.

Describing the encounter as deeply unsettling, she added, “I found it so disgusting, I felt disgusted, and everything was disgusting.”

Complaint filed but case dismissed

Two days later, the woman filed a complaint with Swedish police, accusing Mbappé of rape and sexual harassment.

She explained that the emotional toll of the incident pushed her to take legal action.

“I couldn’t stop thinking about that night—it was too much to bear,” she said.

Despite her accusations, the case was swiftly dismissed.

Swedish prosecutors announced on Thursday that the evidence gathered was insufficient to substantiate the claims.

The evidence collected does not allow us to prove a criminal offence,” a representative of the prosecution stated, bringing the legal proceedings to a close.

Fallout and public perception

While the case has been legally resolved, the episode could have lingering consequences for Mbappé’s reputation.

As one of football’s most prominent figures, his personal and professional life remains under constant scrutiny.
