KWESI APPIAH HEADS TO SUDAN FOR WATAN DEAL
Former Ghana Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is set to begin a new chapter in his managerial career, this time in Sudan. The coach, who led Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, is expected to arrive in Sudan this Tuesday to explore an offer from Watan SC, a top-flight club in the Sudanese Premier League.
According to Allsports.com.gh, Appiah will tour the club’s facilities and engage in talks with Watan’s management. Local Sudanese media are already confirming his imminent arrival, with reports suggesting he is on the verge of signing a two-year contract.
Watan SC finished 4th in the league last season and are preparing for a CAF Confederation Cup campaign. The club sees Appiah’s international experience as a major asset for their ambitions on both the domestic and continental fronts.
If the deal is finalized, Appiah will become one of the few high-profile West African coaches to work in Sudan, adding another significant chapter to his coaching journey.
