Tunisian striker Issam Jemaa is set to be sidelined from the field for a minimum of three weeks due to an injury sustained during the CAN 2013 qualifying match against Sierra Leone, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
Jemaa, who plays for Nédi Al Kuweit, had to be substituted after just ten minutes of the Sierra Leone match, and the injury is reported to be a recurrence of an issue he faced while playing against the Catalan selection. Dr. Fayçal Khachnaoui, the national team’s doctor, confirmed that Jemaa is experiencing knee pain, which will keep him out of action. Unfortunately, this ailment also rules him out of the Carthage Eagles’ friendly match against Egypt in Dubai scheduled for Tuesday.
Issam Jemaa, who left Auxerre this summer after a brief stint, has had a journey marked by transitions. Despite signing a four-year contract, he only played seven matches between August and December 2011, scoring two goals. Following a six-month loan to Brest in January, Jemaa then made a move to Kuwait, signing a two-season deal with Nédi Al Kuweit. The striker’s absence due to injury is a setback for both his club and the national team as they navigate through important matches and competitions
