Krepin Diatta: Senegal winger and free agent linked with Bayer Leverkusen move
Senegal international Krepin Diatta, currently without a club after leaving AS Monaco, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
The 27-year-old right-sided midfielder became a free agent on 1 July following his departure from Monaco, raising the prospect of Leverkusen being able to sign him on a free transfer.
Diatta, whose current market value is listed at 6m, is a right-footed winger standing at 1.73m and is viewed primarily as an option on the right flank, offering pace and width in advanced midfield areas.
Born in Dakar in February 1999, he has established himself at senior international level with Senegal, adding national-team pedigree to his profile as he assesses his next club.
Diatta joined Monaco from Club Brugge in January 2021 after his emergence in Belgium, where his market value rose sharply during successive seasons in Bruges.
Before moving to Belgium, he made his European breakthrough with Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08, having left Oslo Football Academy Dakar in 2017 to join the Eliteserien club.
His valuation climbed as high as 21m during his time at Club Brugge and remained above 10m for most of his spell at Monaco, before settling at 6m in the most recent assessment in June 2026.
For now, Diatta remains unattached while Leverkusen are among the clubs credited with interest, and no agreement over a transfer has been reached.
