Keyliane Abdallah becomes Marseille’s youngest Europa League scorer since 2017

Keyliane Abdallah marked his first Europa League start by scoring for Marseille against Besiktas, becoming the club’s youngest goalscorer in the competition since Maxime Lopez.

The 20-year-old forward was selected on the right wing by Bruno Genesio and made an immediate impact in his first start in the tournament. Abdallah, who came through Marseille’s academy, equalised in the 30th minute to bring his side back into the game.

According to Stats Foot, Abdallah was 20 years and five months old when he scored. That makes him the youngest Marseille player to find the net in the Europa League since Lopez scored against Vitoria Guimaraes in 2017, aged 19 years and 10 months.

The goal was Abdallah’s first in the Europa League for Marseille and provided a significant moment in the Comorian forward’s development.
