Maghnes Akliouche delighted with PSG’s statement win over Manchester City

Maghnes Akliouche continued his promising start at Paris Saint-Germain with another impressive performance in their 4-2 Champions League victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The winger found the net for the second consecutive match after previously scoring against Le Mans, underlining his growing influence since joining the Parisian side. His goal against City capped a memorable week in which PSG secured two victories.

Speaking after the match, Akliouche expressed his satisfaction with the team’s results and praised their determination to deliver in a challenging away fixture.

“It’s been a very good week, especially with two wins, that’s what I’ll remember most, it’s great. We knew today was a big match, that we had to win here in a beautiful stadium with a fantastic atmosphere, we were determined to deliver,” he said.

The 24-year-old acknowledged that PSG made a strong start but faced greater pressure after the interval as City attempted to fight their way back into the contest.

“We started the match very well, we managed to score, and convert our chances. After the second half, it was a bit more complicated, the opposition pushed hard too, but ultimately we’re happy to win this match and we’ll try to improve day by day.”
