As the highly anticipated derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek approaches next Monday, a source within Al Ahly has confirmed that three players are fit to participate in the match: Tunisian Ali Maaloul, South African Percy Tau, and Mohamed Hani.
Ali Maaloul’s condition has significantly improved after suffering from muscle fatigue.
He has shown reassuring progress during rehabilitation and will undergo a final medical test today (Saturday) before joining group training sessions.
As for Percy Tau, he is nursing an ankle sprain resulting from bruising, and his participation will depend on the results of today’s medical examination during training.
The situation regarding Mohamed Hani’s fitness remains unclear, with his availability for the match to be determined soon.
Meanwhile, the conditions of Mohamed El-Shennawy, Imam Ashour, Yasser Ibrahim, Hussein El Shahat, and Aliou Dieng remain uncertain.
Christo, undergoing a medical examination, is yet to receive clearance for his return, while Karim Nedved has gradually resumed training sessions.
Marwan Attiah underwent a sonar examination, with satisfactory results, but further tests are needed to determine his availability for the match.
On the absentee front, Al Ahly will miss five players in the upcoming match against Zamalek: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Imam Ashour, Yasser Ibrahim, Hussein El Shahat, and Aliou Dieng, as they are yet to fully recover from their injuries and are still undergoing rehabilitation programs.
It is expected that these five players will require another two weeks before returning to group training, except for Yasser Ibrahim, who is expected to be ready for participation in a few days.
Aliou Dieng is currently undergoing a new phase of rehabilitation after his injury and is expected to require additional time to recover fully.
