Head coach of Kenya Benni McCarthy is defiant about the sides 2026 World Cup qualification chances despite an unimpressive performance in the March international break.
The former Manchester United assistant coach led the Harambee Stars for the first time last month in their games against Gambia and Gabon.
Currently, Kenya sit fourth in Group F with six points after six matches into the qualifying series. Côte d’Ivoire are on top of the group, followed by Gabon (15 points) and Burundi (10 points).
Kenya confront a monumental challenge in their quest for World Cup qualification, with just four crucial matches remaining in the current campaign.
Despite the daunting task, McCarthy maintains unwavering belief in his squad’s ability to stage a remarkable turnaround.
Having already steered the team through two matches (against Gambia and Gabon), McCarthy expresses optimism about Harambee Stars’ potential to deliver strong performances in their upcoming fixtures and reignite their World Cup dreams.
