Chinese Super League side SD Taishan have been linked with a move for FC Dinamo defender Kennedy Boateng, with the 29-year-old centre-back rumoured to be considering a switch from Romania to China.

Reports on 3 May 2026 suggest interest from Taishan in the right-footed central defender, though the probability of the deal being completed is currently listed as “?” and no agreement has been confirmed. With Boateng’s contract situation at Dinamo not publicly disclosed and no expiry date registered, there is also speculation he could become a free agent if terms are not extended, which may influence any potential transfer fee.

Boateng, valued at €1.20m on Transfermarkt, has been a regular presence for Dinamo in the Romanian SuperLiga, wearing the number 4 shirt. Standing at 1.91m, the Tamale-born defender has built a reputation as a physically dominant centre-back, and his performances in Romania have prompted interest from abroad.

The Togo- and Ghana-eligible defender, who holds dual nationality, is registered as a centre-back but is capable of operating across the heart of defence. He is currently listed with FC Dinamo 1948 and has been part of a side striving to re-establish itself domestically. While detailed contract terms are undisclosed, the lack of a confirmed expiry date leaves open the possibility of a future free transfer should his deal run down.

Recent data does not specify individual match statistics, but Boateng has been involved in Dinamo’s SuperLiga campaign this season, contributing as a first-team defender in a side battling for consistency. There is, however, no formal indication yet of Dinamo’s stance on a sale or whether SD Taishan have tabled an official bid.

If a move to SD Taishan does materialise, it would mark a significant new chapter in Boateng’s career, potentially enhancing his profile in Asia and offering a fresh platform to shape his reputation in a rapidly developing league.
