Former Nigerian international Seyi Olofinjana has urged Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho to strive to get better.
Iheanacho, 28, is currently playing for English Championship side Middlesbrough on loan from Spanish club Sevilla.
This season, the forward has not impressed with his performances, only scoring once and providing two assists after making 11 appearances in the English Championship.
Amid his unimpressive campaign this season, former Nigerian player Seyi Olofinjana believes he can do better.
Speaking to Brila in an interview, Seyi Olofinjana, said he believes Kelechi Iheanacho has the potential to leave his name in the history of football as one of the greatest to ever play the game.
“Kelechi Iheanacho hasn’t really fulfilled his potential. He has the ability to be a true great of the game. As African players, we get satisfied too easily,” Seyi bemoaned.
Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho’s future remains uncertain as his loan deal with Middlesbrough comes to a close at the end of the season.
He will return to Sevilla but is unlikely to spend next season in Spain.
