Rennes are on the verge of securing a deal for Cercle Brugge winger Kazeem Olaigbe, per reports from Ouest-France and Foot Mercato.
Negotiations are well-advanced, with an agreement between the clubs and the player nearing completion.
The French club have been actively searching for reinforcements on the left wing following the departures of Jota, who returned to Celtic, and Amine Gouiri, who sealed a €22m move to Marseille.
Olaigbe has been a standout performer this season, tallying eight goals and one assist in 31 appearances for the Belgian side, which is competing in the UEFA Conference League. The former Southampton prospect remains under contract with Cercle Brugge until 2027.
Rennes have already made significant moves in the January transfer window, adding Al-Nassr’s Seko Fofana, Lens’ Brice Samba, Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi, and Brest’s Lilian Brassier to their ranks.
Born in Belgium to Nigerian parents, Olaigbe has represented Belgium at the U17 and U19 levels. Rennes will look to finalize the deal before hosting Strasbourg on Sunday.
