Nigerian centre-forward Kazeem Aderounmu has completed a move from FK Atmosfera Mazeikiai to FK Minija Kretinga in Lithuania’s I Lyga on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs from 12 February 2026 to 30 June 2026. The 26-year-old leaves Atmosfera after less than a year to remain in the same division but with new colours and a fresh attacking role at Minija.
The deal sees Minija secure an experienced striker without paying a fee, capitalising on Aderounmu’s availability at the end of his stint with Atmosfera. While his current market value is listed as undisclosed, previous assessments during his time in Lithuania and Serbia had climbed as high as €75,000, underlining how his reputation has built steadily across Eastern Europe. With the short-term contract in place, there is scope for the Nigerian to become a free agent again at the end of the agreement if no extension is reached.
Aderounmu continues a well-travelled career path that has already taken him from Nigeria to Latvia, Lithuania and Serbia. Born in Iseyin, he began his professional journey at Real Sapphire FC in his homeland before making the jump to Europe with JFK Ventspils in Latvia in early 2020. From there he moved to DFK Dainava Alytus in Lithuania in 2021, where his performances saw his market value first recorded at €25,000 and later doubled to €50,000 as he adapted to Baltic football and established himself as a reliable centre-forward.
His progress drew interest from outside Lithuania, leading to a transfer to FK Radnicki Belgrade in Serbia in 2023. During his spell there, his value peaked at €75,000 by the end of that year, reflecting his growth in a more demanding environment. In 2024 he returned to Lithuania with FK Tauras Taurage, and in March 2025 switched within the I Lyga to Atmosfera Mazeikiai, before now making the latest intra-league move to Minija.
Primarily deployed as a central striker and preferring his right foot, Aderounmu offers Minija a direct focal point in attack, with the physical profile to match: he stands at 1.89 metres, making him a natural fit for aerial duels and hold-up play. His trajectory shows a consistent willingness to operate abroad rather than in Nigeria’s domestic scene, and his latest move keeps him in a foreign league, continuing a career almost entirely built outside his home country.
The transfer also sustains a long-running connection with Lithuanian football, where he has now represented multiple clubs across the country’s league system. That continuity should ease his integration at Minija, who are banking on his prior experience in the I Lyga to provide immediate impact. With his contract set to expire on 30 June 2026, both club and player face a decisive period in which performances could determine whether he extends his stay, earns a move higher up the ladder, or re-enters the market as a free agent once more.
