Karim Walid, a key player for Al Ahly, may miss the upcoming crucial clash against Simba in the African Champions League quarter-finals due to an ongoing injury concern, as confirmed by a source within the club.
The Egyptian forward was absent from the first-leg encounter against Simba in Tanzania due to an injury he recently sustained.
His absence was notable as Al Ahly secured a significant 1-0 victory in the previous match, showcasing the importance of Walid’s presence on the field.
The match between Al Ahly and Simba is scheduled for next Friday, April 5th, at the Cairo International Stadium, with Al Ahly holding a slender advantage from the first leg.
Speaking to “Kora Plus,” the source stated, “Karim Walid is currently struggling with a knee injury and has not participated in team training since returning to practice yesterday.”
The source further added, “The chances of Karim Walid being fit for the match against Simba next Friday are currently very slim.”
In addition to Walid’s uncertain availability, Al Ahly will also face several other key absences in the crucial second leg clash against Simba.
Goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, defenders Emam Ashour and Mahmoud Zanfali, midfielder Aliou Dieng, and forward Yasser Ibrahim will all be sidelined due to various injuries and ineligibility issues.
