German-Nigerian winger Karim Adeyemi has reportedly snubbed a lucrative winter transfer to Napoli, opting to stay at Borussia Dortmund for now.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the forward decided against the move despite Napoli’s enticing offer of a €6 million net salary—substantially more than the €5.5 million gross he earns at BVB.
So why did Adeyemi reject the substantial pay increase? According to Bild, the 21-year-old is focused on the long-term and prefers not to make a midseason move, especially to Serie A. Instead, his sights are set on the English Premier League, with clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly on his radar.
For Adeyemi to attract top Premier League interest this summer, however, he’ll need to deliver a standout second half of the season with Dortmund. The forward’s focus will be on showing his capabilities at the highest level as he prepares for the next step in his career.
