Karim Adeyemi is on the verge of returning to action for Borussia Dortmund, raising hopes of his inclusion in the crucial Champions League clash against FC Barcelona on Wednesday.
Head coach Nuri Şahin has not ruled out the possibility, stating that the young attacker is “back in training with us” as part of his recovery journey.
Adeyemi’s recent absence was due to a thigh muscle tear that sidelined him for two months. Despite the setback, Şahin is optimistic about the forward’s progress, noting, “He’s training really well.” However, caution remains a priority as Dortmund evaluates the risks of an immediate return to high-stakes competition.
“We have to weigh up whether it makes sense to throw him in after such a long time or not,” Şahin explained. If Adeyemi is held back, fans won’t have to wait long for his Bundesliga return, with TSG Hoffenheim visiting on Sunday.
Whether on Wednesday or Sunday, Adeyemi’s return promises to add fresh firepower to Dortmund’s attack as they navigate a pivotal phase in their season.
