Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has urged his teammate Leroy Sané to remain at the club despite growing interest from Arsenal.
The German international of Senegalese descent has yet to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich, and there are concerns that the club may struggle to keep him beyond this season.
The German winger has previously admitted his admiration for the Premier League, and after nearly five years at Bayern, he could be on the verge of returning to England.
Sané left Manchester City in the summer of 2020, and Arsenal are reportedly keen to bring him back to the English top flight.
Speaking to Bild, Kane made it clear that he would prefer Sané to stay. “It’s not my decision, but the club’s. I really enjoy playing with Leroy and would love for him to stay, but that’s a discussion between him and the club,” he said.
The England captain also praised Sané’s recent performances. “He played a fantastic match against St. Pauli. It’s great to see how he converts his chances into goals. He often finds himself in the right positions and stays as calm as ice in front of goal, which is exactly what we need,” Kane added.
“There is great understanding between us in the way we play. He has incredible qualities and amazing skills.”
