Kamel Abu Ali has stepped away from his role as President of Al Masry, ending a notable chapter in the club’s history.
His official resignation, submitted to Port Said Governor Major General Moheb Habashi Khalil on Monday, cited ongoing health issues that have made it difficult for him to continue leading the club.
In a formal message, Abu Ali thanked the club and its supporters, explaining that his decision was not taken lightly but made out of necessity. He highlighted the importance of the club’s future and his desire not to hinder its progress.
Governor Khalil responded with public praise for Abu Ali’s service, describing his contribution to the club’s development as significant. He announced that the current board will remain in place until a general assembly is held to choose a new president.
An emergency meeting involving the Al Masry board, the governor, and relevant sports authorities is expected soon to ensure smooth management during this transition and to preserve the club’s momentum.
