Kaizer Chiefs sign Tanzanian midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa from Azam FC in fresh squad rebuild

Kaizer Chiefs have bolstered their squad with the signing of Tanzanian midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko from Azam FC, as the Soweto giants continue an aggressive restructuring ahead of the new season.

The Premier Soccer League club confirmed on Tuesday that the 22-year-old has joined from the Dar es Salaam side for an undisclosed fee, becoming Amakhosi’s fourth new arrival of the current window.

Mtasingwa’s move follows the acquisition of South African duo Thabo Moloisane and Renaldo Leaner, and comes shortly after Chiefs opted to keep highly rated striker Khanyisa Mayo on a permanent deal.

Kaizer Chiefs announced the deal in a brief statement on social media, accompanied by an image of Mtasingwa in club colours.

The Tanzanian, noted locally for his resemblance to Bafana Bafana winger Thapelo Maseko, adds further depth to the club’s midfield options and continues a pattern of targeted recruitment blending local and regional talent.

He becomes their fourth confirmed signing:

Mayo initially joined Chiefs on loan from Algerian side CR Belouizdad in September last year. The club has now exercised its option to sign the second-generation striker on a full-time basis.
