Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Daniel Matsau is advocating for more time for coach Nasreddine Nabi following calls for his sacking from a section of the fans.
The Soweto giants clinched the South African Cup, but faltered in the league, missing out on the top eight finish after placing ninth at the end of the campaign.
Despite the club inconsistent performance in the league, the former South African footballer insists the Tunisian trainer deserves more time at the helm.
“I hope the management gives the coach more time, though I understand it won’t be easy to sign all the players he wants. For years, Kaizer Chiefs have been trying to bring in the right talent.
It’s better for the coach to fail with players he personally recommended than to keep working with an unstable squad. He’s trying to find a stable starting eleven, giving every player on the roster a fair chance,” Matsau said.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are preparing for a significant squad changes ahead of the new South African Premier League season. One of the main questions remains the future of Rwanda national team goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari.
Nabi has outlined the condition under which he is ready to continue working with the club. He also mentioned that this issue has already been discussed with the management.
