Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper coach Illyes Mzoughi confirms departure
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper coach Illyes Mzoughi has officially confirmed his departure from the South African giants, bringing an end to his spell at the Soweto-based club with a heartfelt message of gratitude and reflection.
Mzoughi announced his exit in an emotional statement, describing his time at the club as a privilege and honour, while expressing appreciation to everyone he worked with during his tenure.
“Today, I say goodbye with a heart full of gratitude and pride. It has been a great honour and privilege to be part of this big club and this beautiful family,” he said.
Throughout his time at Naturena, Mzoughi worked closely with the club’s goalkeepers, and he took a moment to specifically acknowledge their effort, discipline, and progress under his guidance.
His departure marks another change in the technical structure as the club continues to shape its backroom staff.
He extended thanks to the management, technical team, players, and supporters for their support, stressing the strong bond he built during his stay.
The coach also made it clear that although his chapter at Chiefs has closed, his emotional connection to the club remains intact.
“Even if my journey with Kaizer Chiefs comes to an end today, this club will always remain in my heart. I wish the club nothing but success, trophies, and happiness in the future,” he added.
Mzoughi’s exit comes at a time when Kaizer Chiefs continue to undergo structural adjustments as they aim to strengthen their competitiveness in domestic and continental football.
His departure will now leave a vacancy within the goalkeeping department as the club evaluates its next steps.
