South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the signing of highly-rated defender Nkanyiso Shinga in the ongoing summer transfer window.
As earlier reported by AfricaSoccer.com, the Soweto giants has confirmed the acquisition of the left-back on a permanent deal as he marks a return to South Africa after ending his spell with newly promoted Portuguese top-flight side Alverca FC.
Shinga joins as a replacement for Botswana defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who recently departed Kaizer Chiefs in February to join Libyan giants Al Ittihad.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of 25-year old Nkanyiso Shinga. The talented left-back is a versatile operator who can also play in midfield and attack. He will don jersey” wrote the club on X, formerly known as Twitter while announcing the signing of the defender.
Known for his impressive display as a full back, he would be a great addition to the Kaizer Chiefs squad heading into the new season.
Kaizer Chiefs are bolstering their squad for the 2025/26 campaign in an attempt to compete for laurels. Despite ending their trophyless run, the Soweto giants missed out on the top eight in the South African top-flight, prompting swift squad augmentation for the new campaign.
