Both Gauteng teams returned to the winners’ podium after last claiming their divisions in 2024.

Kaizer Chiefs cruise to boys’ title

Kaizer Chiefs completed their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Mpumalanga-based East High Boys Academy in the Under-18 Boys final.

The route to the decider had been closely contested for both sides. Chiefs secured a narrow 1-0 semi-final win against Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town, while East High reached the final by beating AmaZulu F.C on penalties after their semi-final ended 1-1.

The final was more one-sided, with the Soweto club converting their control of the match into a convincing three-goal success.

Kaizer Chiefs also provided the Player of the Tournament in Malibongwe Mshali, who was named the division’s leading striker. His team-mates Tashiel Rugananan and Lebohang Dlamini were selected as Defender and Midfielder of the Tournament respectively.

Shaun Els of Kaizer Chiefs, Ompile Bokala of Tenpont United, Lebohang Dhlamini of Kaizer Chiefs and Tshiamo Mosana of Kaizer Chiefs shared the award for Top Goal Scorers of the Tournament.

Other boys’ individual awards went to Dream Team’s Reabetswe Boweni, who won the 1v1 competition, and Antalyaspor JPM’s Jordan Mack, who finished second. Ayaan Jacobs of Antalyaspor JPM was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

RV United could not match Sundowns in the decider, with Masandawana completing a dominant tournament through a 2-0 final victory.
