Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim Soliman, known as Kahraba, the talented player for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, took to his Instagram page to share a message of unwavering faith and resilience following Egypt’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
In a post, Kahraba expressed gratitude, saying, “Praise be to God. Knowing the meaning of ‘faith in God.’
It means that all doors seem to be closing in front of you, everything is in disarray, and circumstances have become challenging.
Yet, your faith is that God will fix everything and bring goodness.”
Quoting Ibn al-Qayyim on faith in God, Kahraba conveyed, “If one of you were tasked with removing a mountain, and he was confident in God, God would remove it for him.
And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.”
He emphasized the importance of staying confident in God’s plans and not losing hope, urging everyone to be patient as God will deliver.
The Egyptian national team, accompanied by Kahraba, returned to Cairo on Tuesday morning after being eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations in the Round of 16 by the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In related news, Amr Adham, a board member of Zamalek Club, responded to Ashraf Abdelaziz, the lawyer of Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim Kahraba, who denied making an offer to settle the player’s fine and end the crisis.
Amr Adham clarified on Twitter, stating, “To clarify, the lawyer appointed by the club presented an offer to settle the dispute and pay the fine.”
He continued, “The player may have another lawyer who contacted the Italian lawyer.
I cannot imagine the Italian lawyer presenting an offer without any basis.”
Emphasizing that Kahraba submitted a proposal for settlement, which was rejected in writing by FIFA on January 16, Adham addressed the situation.
He added, “To confirm, the player submitted a proposal for settlement, which was rejected in writing by FIFA on January 16.”
Ashraf Abdelaziz responded, stating, “I was surprised by a statement from one of Zamalek’s officials that Kahraba’s lawyer presented an offer to settle the fine.
However, I did not make any offer for settlement or payment, and I did not speak to anyone about this matter.
The case is pending before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and we are currently in the appeal stage for the fine.”
He concluded, “Talking about paying the fine will not happen before August 2024.
The appeal stages may conclude in August or December, or possibly in August 2025.
When the fine becomes due for payment and the decision is final, we will settle it.”
