Juventus are considering an unexpected move for Everton forward Beto as they continue their search for a new striker following a setback in the transfer market.
The Serie A giants have been forced to explore alternative options after failing to secure the signing of Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri earlier this month.
According to reports in Italy, Juventus have identified Beto as a possible solution to their attacking needs, despite the Portuguese forward’s difficult spell in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old has endured a challenging period since joining Everton from Udinese in 2023, struggling to consistently reproduce the form that made him one of Serie A’s most imposing forwards during his time in Italy.
Beto’s return of 18 goals in 97 appearances across all competitions has fallen short of expectations at Goodison Park, and his role has diminished further in recent weeks.
He has slipped down the pecking order following the emergence of Thierno Barry, who has scored in back-to-back Premier League matches and strengthened his claim for a regular starting place.
Juventus, however, believe Beto’s previous experience in Serie A could work in their favour. During his stint with Udinese, the striker established a reputation for physical presence, direct running, and an ability to unsettle defences, qualities that still appeal to the Turin club as they look to add depth and a different profile to their attack.
Negotiations could prove complicated. Everton are understood to be open to letting Beto leave, but only on a permanent basis, as the club looks to streamline its squad and recoup part of its investment.
Juventus, by contrast, are believed to prefer an initial loan deal, potentially with an option to buy, as they manage financial constraints and assess the striker’s suitability.
