Juventus has, until now, expressed a strong desire to retain their talented midfielder, Paul Pogba. However, a shift in stance was revealed on Monday through Giuseppe Marotta, the club’s general director. Marotta made it clear that while there won’t be any issues in keeping Pogba in January, it will be challenging to retain him in the future.
He stated, “Regarding the month of January, there will be no problem keeping him. But in the future, it will be difficult to keep Pogba. Italian football cannot offer salaries of 5 or 6 million euros annually.” Marotta expressed regret at the prospect of Pogba leaving Juventus, saying, “From our point of view, we do not want to sell Paul Pogba. Until now, we have closed the door to all possible buyers.”
Despite Juventus acquiring Pogba on a free transfer, offers of up to 50 million euros have surfaced, making it increasingly difficult for the club to resist. Additionally, with the prospect of earning significantly higher salaries, up to 8 million euros annually, from other clubs, Pogba’s departure from Turin seems increasingly likely.
