Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio heads to Bournemouth for medical

Michele Di Gregorio has left Turin to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed move from Juventus to Bournemouth, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The 29-year-old Italian goalkeeper travelled from Turin Caselle Airport on Monday morning before boarding a private flight to England. He is expected to join Bournemouth on loan, with the Premier League club holding an option to buy him for €14m.

Di Gregorio has fallen out of favour at Juventus following a series of errors last season, with further mistakes reported during the club’s preparations for the current campaign. His departure will remove him from the Bianconeri’s goalkeeping options after Juventus brought in Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham Hotspur on loan.

The deal for Vicario includes an option to make the transfer permanent. Juventus are also preparing to complete the signing of Kamil Grabara from VfL Wolfsburg, while Mattia Perin is closing in on a move to Palermo in Serie B.

Di Gregorio spent two seasons with Juventus after joining the club, but his position became uncertain after a 2025-26 campaign in which he did not reach the level expected by the club.

During his Juventus career, he made 84 appearances, conceding 84 goals and keeping 36 clean sheets.

Bournemouth are seeking another goalkeeper after sending Alex Paulsen on loan to Scottish club Motherwell and allowing Christos Mandas’ loan from S.S. Lazio to expire.

Djordje Petrovic started in goal for Bournemouth in their match against Manchester City. The club are competing in the UEFA Europa League this season after finishing sixth in the Premier League last term.

Di Gregorio’s proposed move would give Bournemouth another option in goal, while Juventus continue to reshape their goalkeeper department through the arrivals of Vicario and the anticipated signing of Grabara. The transfer remains subject to the medical examination in England and the completion of the loan agreement.
