Jurgen Klopp backs Mohamed Salah for long career after Liverpool exit
Jurgen Klopp believes Mohamed Salah can continue at the top level for many years, even as the forward prepares to leave Liverpool this summer at the age of 34.
The former Reds manager praised Salah’s elite mentality and professionalism, insisting age will not define the next chapter of his career.
“Salah is an incredible professional,” Klopp said, highlighting the standards the Egyptian has set across his time at Anfield. “He set completely new standards for a professional football player – how hard you can work, how much you can invest in recovery and everything.”
Klopp added that he would not be shocked to see Salah play well into his late thirties. “Now he leaves here but I would not be surprised if he plays another six or seven years,” he continued, calling the forward “an all-time great without a shadow of a doubt” and expressing pride at having been part of his journey.
Salah’s next club has not yet been confirmed, with his camp insisting no final decision has been made. What seems certain, though, is that he is not ready to walk away from the game and believes there is still plenty more to come.
