Junior Dina Ebimbe: Schalke 04 eye move for Franco-Cameroonian midfielder from Frankfurt

Franco-Cameroonian right midfielder Junior Dina Ebimbe, who has been on the books at Eintracht Frankfurt and is currently listed with Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois, is being linked with a switch to 2. Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04.

The 25-year-old, valued at €6.00m on Transfermarkt, is the subject of renewed speculation in Germany, with reports indicating a 62% probability that Schalke will push ahead with a move to bring him to Gelsenkirchen from Frankfurt. His contractual situation is unclear, with no expiry date publicly recorded, prompting talk that he could yet become available as a free agent if no agreement is reached over his future.

Born in Stains on 21 November 2000, Dina Ebimbe stands at 1.84m and is predominantly a right-sided midfielder, operating off his stronger right foot. He holds both Cameroonian and French nationality. The former Frankfurt man made his name in the Bundesliga, where his versatility across midfield saw him used both wide on the right and in more central roles.

Most recently, he has featured in France with Stade Brestois, wearing the No 7 shirt. In his latest outing, he played for Brest against Bundesliga opposition Eintracht Frankfurt in a summer friendly on 25 June 2026, a match that finished 1-1, with Dina Ebimbe completing the full 90 minutes in a hard-working display on the right flank.

Schalke, rebuilding in the 2. Bundesliga, are believed to see Dina Ebimbe’s profile – top-flight experience in Germany and France, physical presence and positional flexibility – as an attractive option if a deal can be structured below his €6.00m market valuation or via a free transfer.

If the move materialises, it could offer Dina Ebimbe a central role in a promotion push and a fresh platform to reassert his reputation in German football.
