Jose Riveiro finalizes Al Ahly squad for Miami training camp
Al Ahly head coach Jose Riveiro has finalized a strong squad to travel to the United States today for a closed training camp in Miami, with preparations focused on the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
The camp will feature a friendly match against Mexican side Pachuca on Sunday.
Riveiro is aiming to sharpen his squad ahead of their Group A opener against Inter Miami on June 15. The Spanish tactician has opted for a mix of experience and emerging talent, selecting goalkeepers Mohamed El Shenawy, Mostafa Shoubair, Mohamed Siha, and Mostafa Makhlouf, with defenders Yasser Ibrahim, Ashraf Dary, and Mohamed Hany also included.
The midfield will be marshalled by Marwan Attia, Hamdi Fathy, Aliou Dieng, and Mohamed Magdy Afsha, while the attack features Trezeguet, Tahir Mohamed Taher, and Ashraf Ben Chergui.
Aliou Dieng, Wissam Abouali, and Ahmed Mustafa Zizo will join the squad later due to international duties.
Twelve players, including Reda Salim and Karim Fouad, were left out for technical reasons as Riveiro trims the squad to focus on cohesion and strategy.
