Jose Gomez, the Portuguese head coach of Zamalek Club, has urged the club’s management to reinforce the team with an African striker during the upcoming transfer window.
Sources close to the matter revealed to Koora that Gomez is frustrated with the performance of the team’s current strikers.
Consequently, he has begun scouting for foreign strikers whose contracts expire at the end of the season, intending to recommend them to the club’s management.
“The weakness in the attacking trio of Samson Akinyoola, Saif Al-Jaziri, and Nasser Mansi has taken Gomez by surprise.
Hence, he is actively seeking a new African striker,” stated the source.
Gomez is committed to enhancing and evolving the team’s performance.
He previously stated that he refrained from involvement in the team’s winter transfer deals because his leadership of the team was not yet formalized.
Zamalek is gearing up to face Modern Future on March 31st in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
The return leg is scheduled for April 7th.
