The Jordan Football Association remains steadfast in retaining the services of Moroccan coach Hussein Amotta, with a desire for him to continue leading the national team for the longest possible period, following his achievement with the “Nashama” in reaching the final of the 2024 AFC Asian Cup for the first time in its history.
Marwan Jumaa, Vice President of the Jordan Football Association, commented on Amotta’s recent statements regarding his future with the “Nashama,” stating: “We have a clear contract with Coach Amotta, and God willing, he will continue with us for the longest possible period.
We operate within a comprehensive system, and Amotta is an important element, especially in terms of his relationship with the players.”
It is expected that the Jordan Football Association will meet with Moroccan coach Hussein Amotta to discuss his future with the national team before the upcoming competitions, where the “Nashama” aims to secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.
Amotta stated in recent media remarks that he is currently discussing his departure from the Jordanian national team with the Football Association, adding: “I have difficult family circumstances, as I have previously stated after the AFC Asian Cup final.
I am currently discussing the details of my departure from Jordan, in about three or four months from now, to be with my family.”
The same spokesperson emphasized that he achieved the first goal set in his contract with the Jordan Football Association, which was reaching the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup, a milestone surpassed by an unprecedented final appearance.
