German defender of Ivorian descent, Jonathan Tah, is back on the radar of Bayern Munich ahead of the summer transfer window.
The German club, as reported by Africasoccer early this week, has decided to reinforce its defensive setup at the end of the season.
Particularly, the club wants to sign a defender with leadership qualities to command and control the backline.
According to information gathered from sources today, Jonathan Tah’s name has been mentioned among Bayern Munich officials as the ideal candidate to fill that role.
Already, the Bayer Leverkusen captain has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
According to him, he has already made his intentions clear to the club.
“Yes. Yes, definitely,” Tah told Kicker when asked if he would leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.
He continued, “I don’t have a timeframe, to be honest. But the club knows about it. And I’ve been very open with them, as I always have been.
“Everything was said at the start. There was a point when I made the decision not to extend my contract and not to stay here. And that’s how it’s going to go now.”
Following his latest revelation, Jonathan Tah has sparked increased speculation about his future.
Although there is no good relationship between the defender’s agent and some Bayern Munich officials, a deal can still be reached.
