Jonah Kusi-Asare’s journey took a thrilling turn in late April when he stepped onto the pitch in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Mainz.
At just 17, the Swedish-Ghanaian forward made his official debut for Germany’s most successful club, a moment he describes as unreal.
“It felt unreal,” Kusi-Asare told the Ballers app, recalling the match. “To be honest I don’t remember anything, I just remember coming in.”
The teenager, who has drawn attention for his composure and physical presence, is now being coached by football legend Vincent Kompany, something he still finds surreal.
“It’s unbelievable, you’ve seen everything he’s done… and then he sits in front of you,” Kusi-Asare said.
Asked about the best player at Bayern, Kusi-Asare didn’t hesitate: “Kingsley Coman would be the best if he hadn’t had so many injuries… but if I had to pick someone right now, it would be him.”
The chance to learn from Harry Kane also excites him. “It’s unbelievable… he helps me, he does everything for me,” he said.
