John Obi Mikel, the Chelsea midfielder, has been linked with a potential move to AS Monaco, but there are reports suggesting that Galatasaray in Turkey is also interested in the Nigerian player. According to The Daily Star, Galatasaray is in advanced negotiations with Chelsea and has made an offer estimated at 13 million euros, while Chelsea is reportedly seeking no less than 16 million euros for Mikel.
Mikel’s playing time has diminished, particularly under Rafa Benitez, and with the arrival of Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel, his competition for a spot in the team may increase. Chelsea, under the management of José Mourinho, seems open to considering offers for Mikel, whose contract is set to expire in June 2017. Monaco and Galatasaray are both in the race for the defensive midfielder, and negotiations and discussions are ongoing.
