Al Ahly head coach Jess Thorup has omitted Youssef Belamri from his squad ahead of the club’s Egyptian Premier League encounter with Wadi Degla.
The Red Devils return to league action today, January 27, when they take on Wadi Degla in the 16th round of the competition. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
The fixture marks Al Ahly’s first Premier League appearance in 85 days, with their last outing in the competition coming on November 2 against Al-Masry Al-Portsaidi.
The prolonged absence was due to the club’s involvement in several domestic and continental commitments during the break.
Al Ahly currently sit third in the league table with 23 points from 12 matches as they look to reignite their title challenge on their return to league football.
